Collaborators

Turku Urology Research Unit locates in the Turku University Hospital. Next to the hospital, collaborators, like Auria Biobank, FICAN West and several basic science laboratories and research groups have activities in Medisiina D building.

TYKS

Turku University hospital is a tertiary care cancer center. The hospital has a total of 900 beds and is the center of South-West Hospital district.

Pathology

Unit of pathology studies tissue and neuropathological samples, cytological cell samples and performs autopsies. Immunohistochemical staining and molecule pathological study of histological and cytological laboratory studies are performed in the unit.

Auria Biobank

Biobank samples are collected in the hospital in connection with the treatment from people who have given their consent to the biobank. Auria Biobank provides samples and related clinical data for health promoting biomedical research.

FICAN West

FICAN West constitutes a coordinating unit of advanced cancer care, research and education without participating in the care of individual patients in the clinic. FICAN West operates as a network and is a part of the national cancer center of Finland called FICAN.

MRC

Magnetic Resonance imaging research Center, Turku, Finland is a joint project of the Medical Imaging Center of South-West Finland, Turku University Hospital, and University of Turku. Our aim is to advance the area of magnetic resonance imaging with direct application in clinical medical imaging.
